Retrofitting Deadmall
Project description:
“Deadmall” and “Ghostbox” were once a shopping destination and the center of the community, but they are huge eyesores and have negative impact on the community. The project, “Retrofitting Deadmall” is suggesting how to revive vacant malls in the most efficient way by adding structures. Solar film shade in the parking lot will not only provide renewable energy but also provide space for public events or markets. It is using elastic quality of the solar film; adjusted in different angles to maximize the solar exposure and also to create aesthetically pleasing wavy structure.

Waste Not, Want Not
Project description:
Trash is just the things we don't love anymore. Since resources aren't infinite, we should probably start considering a metaphoric marriage counseling. Objects should really be viewed as investments, made by hand and maintained for at least a lifetime, instead of just cast aside for the next new thing. Obviously, this doesn't apply in all cases, as you probably don't want to craft your own hypodermic needle and pass it down to your grandkids.
